Elizabeth
Very likely to have something to do with it ! Caffeine is a stimulant which is probably keeping you awake - and you are tired becuase you are not getting quality sleep. Your blood pressure could be high too becuase of the caffeine - and that can cause headaches - so get that checked too. As Gareth quite rightly says any form of dehydration will give you headaches - so if the coke is dehydrating you, and you are not sleeping well......I'd be surprised if your headaches were anything short of the sledgehammer variety!

Do suggest you really try and cut right back on your intake - it really isn't good for you in many ways, but be prepared for the caffeine withdrawal symptoms for a few days - and that will include headaches! But they will pass if that's what's causing them. I used to drink too much strong fresh coffee and when I cut back drastically I had some real thumping heads for a day or two.

Take care
Pat

High sugar containing drinks intially give an energy rush and as the levels crash down, that is when you get drowsy.

Sugar + caffeine give real buzz.

Once through the system you go on a low so lack energy and get tierd.

Not quite same on diet drinks which have a more complex sugar substitute, then it is just caffeine gives you the buzz.

Be careful. if you have had a high cdaily caffeine intake and suddenly cut this down, or out, you will have a severe headache caused by the withdrawal of the caffeine.

I'd suggest that, if you want to reduce your caffeine intake, you cut it down rather gradually. (I am down now to one cup of industrial strength coffee per day).
