I did not have it scraped. I "err'ed" on the side of caution as at that stage they were the only source of information.....and thus I had nothing to compare their results with. (put it down to be being more diligent)

However, the epithelium scraping is performed under topical anesthetic and I am led to beleive that there is some pain after this wears off (anything from 2 - 10 days). But the epithelium is fast healing, and Im certain they do give some sort of ointment now (do check this with them)

My C3Rd eye is well odd! lol. As my last appointment revleaed that is has since changed and the cornea had reduced in its conical size. At the appt before that, it had increased! And this is some 15 months after the treatment. But im not too concerned about that to be honest..as in the new year I shall be having a graft.

But do bear in mind that I had advanced KC in this eye...and thus even at that stage the changes of major regression were limited and I knew this from the onset.....but I still took the plunge and im glad that i did

Thats strange. Was the bulging in your eye visible? Are you nervous about the 2nd graft or are you OK as you've already had one?

The scraping is done under anesthetic. I'm wondering if I'm rushing into it. They've pencilled me in to have it done in the afternoon. I'm just desperate to halt the progression. I don't have to have it done though.
It seems like the thinning may be on the lesser side at the moment, although most things are blurred with that eye.
Do you know if there is any other practice in the UK that offers it?

Yes. the buldging was evident if you saw my cornea from the side. But not as much as my right eye was previous to the graft.

With regards to other places....you MAY want to talk to Sheraz Daya at Centre for Sight. I ran C3R past him as I am under his care for my graft.He also performs this procedure now.

To be honest, the Graft was the best thing I ever did for my KC...but thats ONLY because its gone so well ever since I have had it. I would in no way ever recommend one from experience unless all other avenues were explored as its a serious decision to take and make.

Yeah, thanks. Going to try to speak to the doctor I saw, to see what he thinks of the treatment and speak to the guy you saw at Centre for Sight. Apparently he's there tomorrow.
