Many thanks for your thoughts

Hello Peeps,
:o I just wanted to say "thank you" to you for your advice.
On reflection, I think I have to make an appointment for a chat with my ophthalmologist to discuss all that you have suggested and perhaps he can begin to pull a few strings.
Can you ring an ophthalmologist's secretary and just arrange to see him/her if you've been before, instead of going via the GP?
I also have a couple of eye pain questions to ask.
He has been pretty good the past five years and I'm reluctant to rock the boat there, but I think it needs to be pointed out to him that there are better options available to KC patients and that I seem to be receiving a second-class service.

Also, I need to address the issue with him that I'm not happy to continue using a PMMA hard lens long term when it can lead to corneal hypoxia, as it doesn't allow the lens to breathe...It should really just be a short term option.

Thank you for giving me the impetus to move forward!

Lyndsey
Keep looking for rainbows.

Lyndsey

As far as I know it is okay to phone the ophthalmologist's secretary rather than ask for a new referral from your GP. That's what I have done in the past.

Yours aye

Andrew
