Eye make up remover pads are good. Get fragrance free if you can.
You can just wipe your eyes gently then.

Hope that helps

Hi there. You can lightly remove eye shadow with a pad just don't rub too hard! I like fluid ones instead of cream as it is easier and you don't need as much pressure to get it off.

Mascara you can remove by pulling the corner of your upper eyelid with the opposite hand and taking it off by putting pressure on the outside of your eye.

Eye liner i'm not too sure about as i don't use it! LOL!!

Hope this helps ... Sweet X x X

Does rubbing your eyelids actually help KC progress?

Yeah I just use a clinique eye make up remover and cotton pads. I gave up on mascara, it was just too messy to get off all the time and I found it irritated my eyes when I used my lenses. I have no problem with eyeliner though, in fact, I'd be lost without it! :D

There is no actual evidence to show that eye rubbing increases the progression of KC. It is recognised that quite a proportion of those with KC do rub their eyes a lot and is thought to be more of a symptom. Perhaps of dry eyes which is something else many of us have.

It has been suggested that as the collgen braks down, the collegen layers can start to slide against each other and that this is causes irritation making us want to rub our eyes. Theb the act of rubbing forces the layers to move further and cause KC to progress.

This is practically impossible to prove as you would need a control group who were prevented from eye rubbing and the test group told to rub for all they are worth.

I do not feel anyone would want to be in the test group if there was a fear they could agrevate their KC. When I get the urge to rub my eyes, I go and put some eye drops in and all is fine again.

I am an eye rubber, and I don't have the excuse of removing make up!

I have seen lots of speculative stuff about a link between vigorous eye rubbing and KC, but nothing substantiated. It may well be that eye rubbing is a symptom of KC.

I'd be pretty confident that the sort of pressure on the eye lid that would be associated with the products mentioned by Sweet and Anne would have very little impact on KC, although it would probably be a mistake to have lenses in while cleaning makeup off!
