Sandi,
I can really sympathise about the fatigue, it sounds really bad for you. I went through that whole question of whether the KC was a symptom, contributory factor or the actual cause. The blood tests revealed no clinical reason for it, which in itself doesn't rule out some syndromes. But when started to analyse things I quickly realised that I had no stamina for driving or PC work. Because I am studying for an MBA and spend 8 hrs on a PC at plus 2-4 hours studying, I was getting really tired. Whereas, a ten mile run was no problem. When I started getting a bit more sensible about how I managed these things,I got better pretty quickly. I still have the odd bad day, who doesn't ? But generally, I am managing this pretty well. I concluded that the KC plus eye intensive activity was the problem in my case. In actual fact, I think I was far too reliant on the PC at work and I developed better ways of working. I also found that reading books is better than PC work so I changed the way I studied too, taking notes on a dictation machine instead of typing them and so on. I am not saying that your case is the same, but this elimination process definitely worked for me..
Now about exercise...this is my favourite subject by far being a complete endorphine junky! I think the problem with exercise and getting started is that people tend to think they have to do a lot of it which is a) Not True
b) Not helpful if you are already tired.
Walking for example is just as good for you as running. In fact walking is THE best exercise you can do in my humble opinion. Basically, you need to get your heart rate up above normal for about 20 minutes / three times a week. That is not a lot. The really good thing is that SENSIBLE exercise is stimulating and invigorating and this helps with fatigue. Silly amounts will just make your more tired and probably hurt too.
Diet is also really important for vitality, but I don't claim to be an expert. Personally, I eat stacks of fruit and that really helps. What I am trying to say about the exercise is don't be put off, it doesn't have to be a burden, in fact it should be fun. Any dog owners out there are automatically getting all the exercise they need - or should be.
I hope this helps and doesn't sound too pompous. I don't have tabs on myself but exercise has been a part of life since...well a long time.

Hi Matthew,

thanks for your reply. I do try and get as much exercise as I can.......I work in a very busy office and spend a lot of my day on my feet walking about the building, we also do not drive so tend to walk to most places if poss and I go for a short bike ride each Sunday. My problem is that I am so tired all the time, even when I wake up!

Sandi,
That's a concern, I would think! I can defintely trace my tiredness back to eyestrain, although I don't get much pain. I don't wake up feeling tired, in fact I'm definitely a morning person. If I avoid the PC / car all day, I'm fine.
Maybe the your KC is a contibutor but not the cause?
Sorry, you're probably back where you started now? :?
My ranting about exercise won't have helped if you're already doing it. I am lucky my lifestyle is not frantic busy just busy busy if you see what I mean.
Good Luck, sorry I couldn't help more.

Your lucky, we can't get bananas here for less than $12 per kilo

Sandi,

have you worn a pedometer to work to see haw many steps/how far you walk each day.
That may also be a contributing factor. Too much excersise and not enough to eat.
You may be exhausted form the days work which combined with the symtoms cause by KC (if that's were they are coming from as I'm not a doctor) makes you tired.

Just a thought.

Damien
