I am very fortunate in that both David and Matthew accept things, even if they know that they are going to hurt them, so long as people are upfront and totally honest with them. So the actual op would probably not be too big an issue, although the anaesthetic probably would be, as he has never had an anaesthetic and as everyone reacts differently you could not offer an absolute on how he would feel afterwards. The needle would not be an issue he does needles no problem at the dentist.

Playing with Matthew afterwards would certainly be a first because mostly they cannot stand each other, although Matthew would love to play pirates because another one of his talents is map writing and plotting. The things that they hate about one and other most are the traits that they both share, but part of their autism means that they can see it in others but not themselves.

My biggest concern is David actually being able to make the decision about an Op for himself. I just cannot see that ever happening and I certainly don’t want to be the one who makes that call. However as his eye is fuzzy at the moment the decision may not be the big issue that I fear it may become.

Mine were grafted when the RGP's would no longer sit on the cornea because of the degree of curvature

Carole,

I had to laugh when you said David and Matthew hate the traits they share with each other but do not seee those in themsleves. It was as if you were describing me and my brother :D
