Pilocarpine
Greetings everyone, I haven't posted in a while. On my last hospital visit they measured my vision as 6/12 in the right eye and 6/9 in the left eye with glasses. I know that's probably not bad but if you work each day in front of a VDU for 8 hours the ghosting is pretty annoying. Anyway, as I have p...

I have had my glasses for four months now and the optom warned me that I would get these weird effects because of the extreme prescription, mostly settled down after a while. I still have a bit of an impaired depth perception and when washing up, the frying pan held at 45° in front of me definite...

Rosemary, I was a bit ambiguous in my description: The scleral lens was one from the fitting set and the lens power was through those glasses where they can slide in different lenses. From the comments of the lens fitter I gathered that it would require a different lens power for different parts of ...

Update
Hi everyone, I thought I'd post an update: In mid June, I tried scleral lenses and whilst they were ok to wear and the lens fitter found a good fit, they gave me the same amount of ghosting than the RGPs. Actually, with just the scleral the vision was not too bad but when they apply the correct lens...

Neil, I think Gareth and Lynn pretty much answered your questions. I was more or less in the same situation less than a year ago. I called a private hospital and made an appointment with an ophthalmologist for a diagnosis (cost me £100). In my case, his referral cut down the waiting time for an N...

Thanks to all those who replied. To Lynn: I know it's a bit vague. From what I heard and having seen the corneagram, the cornea in both eyes is essentially sagging and therefore there is a large difference in curvature in the horizontal v. vertical direction. My lens fitter explained the ghosting wi...

Hi everyone, I am Martin and I am 33 years old. I had an eye exam a little less than a year ago because my vision was rapidly deteriorating in the preceeding months (unfortunately haven't done an eye exam for a number of years). It was then confirmed that i have KC. At the eye clinic the consultant ...
